There are an estimated 8 millions Muslims in Burma. They are discriminated against and persecuted beyond all measures. Nowadays, Anti-Muslim violence and racist propaganda have increased against Muslims in general and the Rohingya people in particular. The Muslim Rohingyas have been denied citizenship despite living in Burma for generations with a long history. Due to large scale persecution, an estimated 1.5 million Rohingya Muslims have either been expelled or have had to leave their homeland for their lives. Massacre on 3rd June 2012
On 3 June 10 Muslims, 8 of them Burmese Muslim pilgrims on a Tabligh mission to Sandoway town, were brutally massacred by an organized gang of Rakhine (Arakanese Buddhist) extremists at a check point in Taunggup town in southern Arakan State, Burma, while they were returning to Rangoon in a bus. A Muslim female supervisor and a Muslim driver were among those who were mercilessly murdered. The terrorists were celebrating triumph spitting and tossing the wine and alcohol on the dead bodies lying on the road. This gruesome murder was carried out before the very eyes of the security forces who were watching the carnage with folded arms.
Killings and arson in Maungdaw, Akyab(Sittwe) and Rambree
On 8 June, Lun Htin and Nasaka security forces killed at least 2 Muslims in Maungdaw Town while Muslims were peacefully marching to say prayers for the victims of Taunggup carnage after Friday congregation. From 9 June the armed Buddhist Rakhine extremists with the security forces had attacked and burnt down some Mulsim villages in Akyab and Rambree and looted Muslim shops and properties. At least 200 Muslims were killed while many others injured in several parts of Arakan. Dead bodies have been detained by the security forces and so exact number of deaths could not be confirmed yet. Hundreds of injured Muslims are without medical treatment while thousands of them have been deprived of food, water and other essentials as armed forces and police have blocked them
The security forces and police are the killers. The Rakhine extremists equipped with lethal weapons joined them and reining hell on the Muslims. Because of the curfew no one dares to go out, and in the absence of witness the extremists set fire on houses and villages of the Muslims while the security forces were watching. In the mean time, the racists are busy with media, including state media, supplying fabricated news. These tragic events have been well planned in advance.”
The Burmese government is fully responsible for the killings and communal tension. It has full responsibility to control the law and order situation and protect rights, honour and dignity of the Muslims and other people.
